We are very proud of the success of our program trainees. Over the
years, an average of 74% of our participants graduate and are placed
in jobs at the end of their programs. In 2006, we placed 91% of our
graduates.
Meet Lucio Rameriz , YouthBuild Graduate
“I love everything
about construction,” says Lucio, 2007 graduate of YouthBuild Lake
County. “There was nothing I learned that I didn’t like.” Lucio is
talking about the construction skills he learned while building an
affordable home in North Chicago.
He spent nine months learning construction skills by building this
home. “I am so proud of my work, says Lucio. “I got to see my work
through to the end.”
While at YBLC, Lucio realized that he liked construction so much, he
wanted to make it his career. He worked hard and was rewarded when
he was hired by R Olson as a “finisher.”
“I’m learning more everyday,” says Lucio. “All that I learned at
YouthBuild has helped me get to where I am now - living a good life,
with a good job.”
