A: Lake County residents, aged 17-24, who meet the income requirements, can apply for YBLC programs.

Q: Does it cost anything to enroll in your programs?
 
A: No, the program is free of charge for participants. YBLC is funded through Government, State, and private donations.

Q: Where are YBLC houses built?
 
A: All houses are constructed for low-income families in Lake County, Illinois. We have built three homes in North Chicago and currently have two more scheduled for construction in North Chicago.


Q: What is your program success rate?
 
A: YBLC is proud of the success of its programs. Since 2001, an average of 74% of our participants graduated and were placed in jobs at the end of their programs. In 2006, we placed 91% of our graduates. The figures for 2007-2008 program cycle are not available as the placement phase of the program is ongoing for these trainees.


Q: Do trainees earn money while participating in YBLC programs?
 
A: Trainees earn a small stipend for the duration of the program.


Q: Do trainees receive job placement services?
 
A: Yes, we help those trainees who successfully complete our programs secure employment.
